The Scallop Stars

Named after the unusually even pattern of stars apparant when emerging from the Craven Passage, the Scallop Stars are home to innumerable ork 'empires'; most consisting only of a planet or two. The Scallop Stars are more properly the group of stars marking the south-east border of the area, but since Imperial shipping avoids the area, it has come to describe everything north-west of this point until Subsector Orphine.

It is traditional for the Imperial sector commander to order a culling crusade into ork space every ten generations. This generally results in system-wide bloodshed, and the tradition has been avoided since a rogue ork warboss foolishly attacked The Droon during one of the culls; resulting in an subsector massacre of unprecedented scale.
