Omen

A small and humid planet marked by periodic tectonic upheaval, Omen is populated mainly by prospectors and other nomads, who eke out a thin living from the minerals thrust up from below the tortured surface. Having no permanent landmasses and little liquid water, the denizens of this unhappy world are forced to trade their precious gems and metals at ruinously cheap prices for simple air and water. The Ministorum maintains a church on one of Omen's natural satellites. The cathedral-sorority glitters with gold and silver in the airless gloom; and the lightless cells of the penitent Sisterhood of Foiled Excess are made tortuous to the dwellers within by the cold sharp edges of gemstones.
