Backdagga
Backdagga. The name would become infamous amongst the Imperial Navy during the Fourth Great Purge, and even today the name remembered by its use as a curse. Discovered in M37.782, the system fairly boiled over with brutal orks packed into hive-like conditions that bred tough, resourceful foes. Perhaps more threatening than this was the fact that the system held surprisingly robust and efficient space docks, used by the infamous Warlord Skinslitta to keep his fleet operational, and his stranglehold over the surrounding systems near-complete.
Backdagga itself is a mighty gas giant, coloured a peaceful blue-green that belied the danger its moons held. Over a hundred moons were occupied by Skinslitta's boyz, populated by countless millions – perhaps billions – of ork warriors. Living permanently on his spacefleet, Skinslitta kept an iron grip on the separate satellites. By bombarding any dissent into dust, he ensured that no single lieutenant would ever be able to oust him. By controlling the fleet, he prevented inter-moon communication; and in this way he ensured his continued dominance at the head of an immense tribe. However, this arrangement was simultaneously the Warlord's great triumph, and his great drawback. By keeping his forces separated, he could never benefit from leading the orks in one mighty army, and by gathering the disgruntled sub-warbosses together, he all-but-guaranteed his own murder. He thus eternally frustrated his own dreams of leading a Waaagh.
The Green Docks orbitted Backdagga, forming a grimy ring around the planet. Here, the Backdagga fleet was built and maintained.
